NERVE RACK'S - "PENI'S FROM HEAVEN" - A HOMAGE TO PENI GENIUS

Previously unavailable, Nerve Rack's "Peni's From Heaven" is composed almost entirely of Peni samples - bass-lines, guitar riffs, shrieks, yowls, rasps, grunting, etc.- assembled atop a Renegade Soundwave rhythm, to create a "mutant-funk" track, which maintains a Peni-esque ambience of unholy weirdness. This madcap idea took shape when the band had the chance to learn about sampling technology whilst recording their demo,"Revolution Stimulation Centrifugal". This demo was never released due to the band dissolving soon afterwards, so "Peni's From Heaven" - originally intended only as an experimental creative exercise - never saw the light of day... until

Welwyn Garden City was actually a happening place in the anarcho punk years (1981-83) and among those who played here were Crass, Flux of Pink Indians (twice), Subhumans, The Mob, Annie Anxiety, Youth In Asia, Tribe, Zounds, and local punk bands like Nightmare.

RUDIMENTARY PENI - CATASTROPHE - LIVE BOOTLEG - DOWNLOAD

This is a rare-ish Rudimentary Peni bootleg LP, not on Outer Himalayan or Crass label release, recorded from some live appearances in 1982. Because Rudimentary Peni performed so rarely it’s a gem for Rudi Peni completists. The sound quality is not ideal as it’s not recorded off-the-soundboard.

RUDIMENTARY PENI - DEATH CHURCH - DEMO

These are the voice-less, rough demos of tracks from Rudimentary Peni’s 1983 Death Church LP. That is, they are demos without any of singer Nick Blinko’s vocals, they’re instrumental versions of the songs. They’re rough, and not of final, studio-polished quality. This collection has never seen official release,while most of the tracks correspond to those on Death Church, Track 5, which on the final Death Church LP is just “The Cloud Song,” is here combined into one song with “Cosmic Hearse,” which serves as its intro.
